Kung Oscars väg April 30, 2008 - 25 metres down

Next to nothing is visible in Slottsparken at Kung Oscars väg today. A small hut that will soon be replaced by a hatch in the ground is all that remains of the construction site that has been there for some time. Restoring groundwork has been in progress for a while and is almost finished, but there are activities under ground. The picture shows the stairs that have been cast all the way from ground level in the park and they will end in cross passage 3 between the two tunnels. This is one of the rescue service access points in case of a future accident in the tunnel.

Rock excavation works are ongoing and now – the second week of May – we have reached 23 metres down and in about two weeks time we will have reached the bottom. After that we will carry out the same works that was done in the other rescue shaft at Stadiongatan previously.
